Café van der Brocke

Café van der Brocke, a new play set in Ypres, during World War One was performed in 2022.

A few civilians are living in the cellars of buildings reluctant to leave their homes.  Jan is waiting for the return of his father in the basement of an Ypres café.  But tragedy looms closer as the shelling intensifies and Jan's cellar becomes home to an increasing number of young refugees.  Escape is paramount but Jan is faced with even greater dangers from those close to him.

A talented young cast performed this dramatic and impassioned play at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2022. Receiving a 4 Star review and plenty of brilliant audience feedback, the play was a great success.
